Well I'm putting off posting about our trip to PA because there are so many photos to go through and I'm still working on it. So I thought I'd post a few pics of our time outdoors lately. This is actually before Nathan and I left for our trip. We broke out the rest of Nathan's Easter present from my parents on a nice day after Matt got home. It is an outdoor work set.
Who put a weed in my cart?
It came with a mower too!
He preferred to pull BOTH of them as opposed to pushing the mower :)
Despite Daddy trying to show him how to push it!
Happy kiddo.
There he got it!
Matt had some work communication to attend to. It was Friday night and he was working that weekend after dropping us off at the airport in the morning!
We took a walk this past Friday night...after Nathan and I's trip.
Well, we walked...he ran!
Always picking dandelions for his mama!
Love these boys.
Cute guys with big hearts.
Pretty sure you've already seen this one.
One of our neighborhood signs.
Helping Nathan climb the wheel.
Someone got tuckered out from the long walk!
Then on Saturday Matt and I decided to tackle our front yard. After a call to dad about mulch, weed killer and a plethora of other questions, we left Lowes ready to go! By the way, rakes and shovels and mulch add up! But we had fun. Nathan is such a champ in home improvement stores thanks to those awesome carts he gets to "drive". Nathan took a long nap while Matt and I got started killing weeds, cutting down plants, removing dead stuff and preparing to lay the mulch. I also did some test spots of paint on the exterior of our house. When Nathan was up from his nap he was THRILLED to help us. So were the neighbor girls, Margo and Carmen. They were really good with Nathan.
It was so funny watching him just stand there at first while they took over his cart and shovel!
He's learning early that women just take over and you might as well just let them. ha ha!
Matt raked the red mulch out of the bed and they are gathering it up to bag it.
Helping Daddy.
He was SO good. We were so proud of him. We were outside for a long time and had to run back to Lowe's again and he was an angel the entire time. He LOVES being outside and pulling his cart around.
We replaced the red mulch with black mulch.
I enjoyed laying the black mulch and seeing the transformation of the sharp contrast of the mulch against the green plants. I like it so much better than the red! I know what you're thinking dad and mom, but I actually did enjoy it! It was small and manageable, and I had at least a little bit of an idea what I was doing from your training :)
Here's a picture from Friday so you can see what it looked like with red mulch.
Within a matter of a few days our grass went from green to brown so we are trying to bring it back. Matt turned the sprinkler system on the other day and he is working on getting all of the heads in working order...a few needed replaced so that should help us get the grass back to green.
You can see our neighbors directly across the street in this picture grilling in their garage. Several of the neighbors got together to hang out. We went over after we finished up on our project. We are blessed to have such friendly, wonderful neighbors. They all said they loved the black mulch and to not be surprised if the whole street went out and bought black mulch! Is said, "go for it!" I think that would look great. They also were happy to give their opinion on paint colors :) We all agree on light grey and white trim. Can't wait to see the house freshly painted! I don't think it will be until the end of May or early June though.
Time to go in!

Wow! What a transformation. I like the black too. You all three were probably really tired when you got through with all that. I like all your garden equipment too Nathan. I can remember your Daddy pushing a little mower behind GRandpa in our yard in Dixon. Do you remember that Matt?
Wow the black mulch is so attractive to what the red was. I like it. It doesn't matter when or what order you put pictures on we like them all. You give us a refreshing time around your house it feels like we were there. You all are the greatest. Love Pap and Gram
Thanks Grandma J and Gram Berry! We love you both so much and appreciate you taking the time to write comments and share your love :)
Grandma J- Matt says he doesn't remember mowing with Grandpa. Must have been too young!
