New Things

Nathan is learning so many new things these days! It is such a joy to see him discover what he can do :)

I mentioned in a previous post that he started clapping last weekend
Photobucket
He does it ALL the time now! He loves hearing his little patties smack together!

He also has been rocking back and forth on his hands and knees. People keep saying he is SO close to crawling! But he gets into everything already just by rolling and spinning to get to what he wants...I can't imagine what it will be like when he is CRAWLING!

The other night we gave him Cheerios for the first time. No good reason that it was before bed except that we had just bought them and I was excited to try them out! He is a fan. His Grandma Liz would be proud. She could live off of Cheerios. He seems to love anything that he can put into his mouth by himself. I gave him bread the other day too. He must like the independence! Check the video out here.

This is not a new thing we want to continue, but it was cute just the same. Nathan wouldn't settle down for bed and to give me a break, Matt just took him into bed with him. I heard a little fussing and then SILENCE. This was the other night when I was catching up on the blog. When I finished up and went back to check on them, this is what I found:

So cute. I scooped Nathan up and put him in his crib. He was out so good he barely stirred!

Oh how we love this child.

Easter Weekend

Photobucket
What a way to start an Easter post, huh? We had this on Nathan on Saturday. Darci, a friend of Matt's from Iowa, found this super cute Eagles jacket at a yard sale...brand new! It's sized at 24 months, but why not wear it now! It actually fits him pretty well.

Our family went to the Easter service on Saturday night. Woodmen is usually packed out on Easter Sunday, so they requested that regular attendees who could, to go to a Saturday service time or at 7am on Sunday. We didn't know if we could swing the early Sunday service, so we opted for Saturday night! Right before service we skyped with Dad & Mom Witt, Grandpa & Grandma Johhson, Mark & Rosie, and Nicole & Courtney. They were all at Matt's parent's house in Indiana. So I took a few pictures of Nathan while Matt was setting things up.

Aren't his lips funny here? He makes me laugh!

Warning: if you are not into Nathan pictures, this is probably not the post for you! :)

Saturday night after a great service and a snowy exit! Matt wanted to take a picture of Nathan's first budget meeting. We were going through receipts, putting them in the budget. Nathan was so funny crinkling up and playing with the trash pile.

Easter Morning! Since we went to church the night before, we slept in, made breakfast and enjoyed Easter baskets before heading over to our friend's, Craig & Mandi's for dinner. Here's Nathan with his loot.
Photobucket

He's pretty excited!

First, tackling Grandma & Grandpa Witt's basket.
Photobucket
Oooh. A tag. Who cares about what's in it!

Oh, there's a book in here!
Photobucket

The basket doesn't go on your head, Nathan!
Photobucket
Here's a video of Nathan opening this basket.

And more of the basket on his head because I'm his mom, and I think he is cute.
Photobucket

What a yummy Easter book.

And a Taxi and Gerber Graduates puffs from Pappy and Grandma Liz!
Photobucket

Oh, yum. I like these.
Photobucket
Oh yeah, Daddy & Mommy got him a hammer. It's great fun for us. He still prefers to chew it. I'm sure it will show up in pictures to come.

Family breakfast. Thanks daddy!
Photobucket

What? Apple cinnamon puffs when you guys get bacon?
Photobucket
Just kidding. Actually, I love these.

I just can't keep them on my tray.

Out to the deck for some family pictures!

Oh yeah! Nathan learned to clap today! I have been doing it with him for awhile, but he liked to keep his patties closed. Today, he decided to open them all on his own. Then he enjoyed the sound and kept doing it. So cute. Check the video out here. He waved today on cue as well. But no video of that, sorry.

We read Nathan the "What is Easter" book before bed. It was a great story! Thanks, Grandma Witt. Unfortunately, it didn't put him to sleep. :) But daddy came and rescued him from the couch and took him back to bed with him. I haven't heard a peep in awhile. I'm betting they are both fast asleep. I better go put Nathan in his crib. I know it's not a good habit to start but I'm betting they look adorable. I'm off to go look at them! And hooray for being up to date with the blog. Hope you all enjoyed. And I hope you had a blessed Easter! HE IS RISEN!

Focus on the Family & The Zoo

I might as well get another post in while I'm up. Little Nathan is sitting right here beside me on the couch. He didn't want to go to sleep tonight...so here we are :) It's 11pm.

Last week Jen and I took the boys on a few outings! On Wednesday, we went to Focus on the Family because she had never been there. We took the tour. I'm really glad we did because it was good to hear what areas of ministries they are still pursuing since they downsized due to their decrease in contributions. Also, I was interested to see where things were at since Dr. Dobson stepped down a couple of years ago. I am really proud and grateful of this organization that helps so many families. Our tour guide was wonderful. She even gave Jen 'Bringing Up Boys' and she gave me a couples devotional since I already had that book. I thought that was so nice of her! She even took our picture.

After our tour, Jen and I went over to Whit's End for the boys to play. I love this area that is open to the public! We came here with our nephew Colin the summer of 2009. It will be even more fun when Nathan is older. Oops, I just went to that link. Apparently, most of my pictures of Whit's End are on Facebook. There is only one posted on the blog! Oh well, it was a good memory looking back...so I'm leaving the link! Maybe if Age shows Colin, he'll come visit me again :)

Then on Thursday, we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Matt and I were here in October of 2009. Jen & Kyle bought a membership so she is able to bring one guest for free and kids under 2 are free! A good deal for Nathan and I. Thanks Jen!

Honestly, Nathan didn't care very much about the animals! Maybe in a year or two :)

Rawrrr!
