Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat was last night (Friday) at our church.  The boys were firemen.

You can't see it in any of these pictures, but Josh's jacket does have a fireman patch on it in the corner like Nathan's.  Then we made our own paper patch and velcroed it on his hat, knowing he would not keep a fireman hat on!

It's getting dark so early, so these aren't the best photos.  But you get the idea!

Josh going for Nathan's hat!

Cutie pies.

We grabbed washable markers on our way out the door and Matt colored and smeared their faces in the parking lot to make them look like they had soot on their faces!  Nice touch :)

Nathan looks like he's watching a fire and the shadow on Matt's face (from Nathan's hat) looks like Matt has dirt on his face too!

Brittney works with the children's ministry at Woodmen so she had her own trunk!  Nathan wouldn't talk to her though.  He wouldn't talk to any of our friends who were dressed up!

Brittney and Andrew are expecting their second baby boy on December 25th!

We found a giraffe!  Jonah and Josh :)

All of our small group came but it was so crazy and busy I don't have pictures.  Grady was a fireman too!

I loved this trunk.  The house and couple from the movie "Up".

We went inside to get popcorn, cotton candy, Chick-Fil-A nuggets and a slice of pizza!  And of course the bounce houses.  I waited in a really long line for Nathan and as soon as he got in, he told me it was too bouncy!  Seriously!  He still jumped for awhile though.  The smaller bounce house he told me there were too many kids in it.  He wasn't into it.

We saw lots of people there we hadn't seen in awhile.  My hair stylist was there with her husband and kids and Dave & Sarena (from Focus whose house we are going to tomorrow night!) & their son Daniel.    There were others too...I can't believe how many families this event brings in!

Back in the parking lot, ready to head home!

There's the patch on his coat! :)  How cute is he?

Some dirty firemen getting ready for bed!

I seriously think their bedtime routine is the best part of their day. They love it. We all do. We laugh a lot and it takes FOREVER! ha ha. Oh well, I think this will be one of Matt and I's fondest memories when we look back on this stage of life.

Jamin's 3rd Birthday Celebration at the Construction Yard

Is that what you call it?  Or is it just a "yard"?  I don't know the lingo, but anyway, Jamin invited Nathan to go to the yard with him a week before his birthday and ride the big tractors!  Here's Nathan bringing Jamin his gift :)

And here's the shirt we made for him.

Two construction workers!

These two are good huggers!

Jamin's grandparents, Jeff & Lori, came too!

Kyle showing Matt how to work the bobcat.  Nathan didn't want up in the big front loader with the back hoe!

But he thoroughly enjoyed this :)

They went over to the big pile of dirt and scooped it up and dumped it several times.

Yep.  Josh is eating dirt.  Well tasting it and spitting it out.  He never actually seems to swallow anything.

Jeff is in the front loader with Jamin and Kyle is in the bobcat with Landin.

Jeff coming down the hill!

Kyle's turn.

Nathan overseeing the project :)

Jen took the cat for a spin!  She's a cool mom :)

Jen bringing over a load to us...

...and dumping it!

Nathan up in the front loader while it is turned off!

Now he's loving it.

"I just don't like it when it's on, Mommy."

He told me to come up and look at something.  Here's the video of this part of our night!

More hugs!

Time to go play on the dirt hill!

Jeff taking a leap!

The boys loved it.

Kyle's turn!

Jamin's turn...

Just kidding :)

Time to throw some rocks.

Jeff first!

Heading back to the cars.

See the button on Nathan's vest?  He said he wanted one because it didn't stay closed so we bought a snap at Hobby Lobby.  We got one for Jamin too but waited to put it on in case he didn't want it, or wanted it in a different place.  We put his on at Jen & Kyle's house.

Running after each other!

Back to Kyle & Jen's for Louie's pizza and Jen's famous cake!!!  Check this one out!

There's even a "3" in the dirt and Jamin's "A" is hanging off of the front loader.  So cool!  The rocks are edible too.

The big birthday boy!  He's growing up so fast.  How is he 3 already!

Singing to Jamin.

The cake is green on the inside!

It was funny watching Josh and Landin play together.  They kept pushing each other out of the way!

Jamin had these cool window markers!

The boys playing with play dough and Jamin's trucks from his cake!  This is a good way for Nathan to do it because he doesn't usually like to touch play dough.  For real :)

So thankful Jamin wanted to include Nathan in this fun night! We all enjoyed it.
