On Tuesday we went to Ute Valley Park for a little hike. Colin is getting his Mom's old iphone out to take a picture of the "purple water".
Dad got a good workout with Josh on his back. He did great!
Taking his picture.
I have never seen Ute Valley this muddy before! The rain we have had has been insane for dry Colorado.
Taking in the views.
Grandpa J...what is this footprint? We weren't sure. Matt thought it was a mule deer when I showed him later.
Same animal...just filled in with water.
Break time!
Colin holding Josh's hand :)
Trying to figure out the only map on the trail.
We may or may not have gotten a bit lost!
Woo-hoo! Our car! A nice man along the trail pointed us up a steep hill and in the right direction!
The cutest.
That workout called for naps and then a Golden Corral dinner! All the kids were free! It was so obvious I was the only girl. These guys were in HEAVEN with their all you can eat buffet! Nathan still tells us this was his favorite part of their trip!
Doors off and Pappy at the wheel for the ride home!
Happy guys.
So get this...both of my boys stayed over night in the hotel with Pappy & Colin. Dad said, "aren't you guys going to say goodbye?" See Josh's glance over his shoulder with chance on his arm and his little hand giving a wave? He says, "bye daddy!" and keeps on trucking! As you can see, Nathan starts to get a little unsettled that we're leaving him there.
However, Dad said Nathan never acted like he wanted us again. I didn't even know if we should go home because I assumed we'd be driving back for one or both of them! Dad said that they did great. No crying. But Nathan woke everyone up at 6 in the morning! I think having Colin there really helped.

I will have to show grandpa these pictures so he can name the paw print.
I am sure Pappy was worn out when he got back home. What a great time for him with his grandsons
