Nana Visits; Aunt Nicole Stays!

Mom Witt and Nicole arrived in Colorado Springs late afternoon on Friday.  Nicole is moving out here for awhile and Mom Witt came out with her.  Nicole went down to her new home to unload and have dinner with her new roommate, and then they came by our house to see us after Matt got off of work, and before Nathan went to bed!  We gave them the grand tour and then it didn't take Nathan long to find Nana's iPad :)

The next morning, Matt, Nathan and I went to check out Nicole's new digs!

She's living here with 2 other women.  One of them is a friend of our Uncle Jerry & Aunt Kathy.

Nicole gave US the grand tour!  The chickens were a must-see.

Nathan was impressed.

Their fenced in area outside.  There is actually quite a bit more yard outside of this fence.

Then of course we had to see Nicole's room.  Nathan wasn't too sure about his Aunt's clock that says the time to you and crows like a rooster!
Photobucket
But in time, he learned to like it :)

Those dressers along the side were quite cool.
Photobucket

It was really nice that she could rent her room fully furnished.
Photobucket

Nathan became a quick fan of his Aunt Nicole as she had the coolest little trinkets.
Photobucket
He refers to her as "Cole" for the most part, although sometimes he adds the "N" sound at the beginning of it!

We stopped at BJ's for some burgers, fries and ice cream!

Then we headed back to our house for Nathan's nap.  Mom Witt and Nicole stayed with Nathan and took him to Target after his nap while Matt and I headed to Denver for some time together :)  We stopped at Pizza Hut in Castle Rock and firmed up our baby boy's name (sorry, still going to be a surprise!),  went to IKEA for a return and to pick up a few items and then to Target!  On the way home we drove as close as we could get to the burned areas in the Springs.  It was incredible how one home could be burned to the ground and the next one was fully intact, landscaping and all.  We had a nice day just the two of us!  And when we came home, it didn't appear that Nathan missed us too much! :)  I think he had a good day too.

On Sunday after church we went to the Egg & I for brunch.  It was yummy!

I think we all took naps that afternoon and then went down to Manitou Springs that night to check out our food options and parking because the next evening we were going to go to a concert here with Uncle Jerry & Aunt Kathy.  Nathan with the ladies in the park.

We found a great little custard shop!

Walking back to the car.

He really does love his aunt!  He wanted to hold her hand, and if it wasn't that, he wanted her to hold him!
Photobucket
You can't really tell in this picture, but he is swinging their arms while they walk :)

He was fascinated by this pinwheel.

Getting excited about Nicole putting lotion on his arm!

On Monday morning, I had my doctor's appointment and Nicole and Mom came over to watch Nathan.  After Nathan went down for a nap, they ran out to get some food for Nicole to have in her house!  That evening Matt, Nathan and I met them and Uncle Jerry & Aunt Kathy in Manitou Springs for a free concert.  The four of them had met earlier for dinner.

Nathan was taking it all in in.

Until he saw the playground!
Photobucket
He loved the playground there and Matt, Nicole and Mom all took turns keeping him occupied.  I was too busy chatting to take pictures or take a turn watching him!

Nathan was just as giddy, giggly and happy on the way home from Manitou Springs as he was on the way there!
Photobucket
We left after the concert because it was already past his bedtime while the rest of them went for frozen yogurt!

Tuesday morning Nicole and Mom went to the park with Nathan and I for lunch.

AND for playing!
Photobucket

Nathan enjoyed watching "Cole" swing next to him!
Photobucket

Nana had him saying "higher", "higher!"
Photobucket

By the time we left he looked like he was going to fall asleep right in the swing!
Photobucket
I have never seen him swing for this long.  Usually, he is saying "all done" and wants to run to the next thing pretty quickly.  But today, when we went to the park, he wanted to swing for a long time then too.

Nathan and his Nana!
Photobucket
ha ha.  See how tired he is??  He took a good nap after this.

Very loved.

Being carried to the car.

He was stalling to take his nap back at home.  Playing with the "garage" that he, Nana and Nicole built the day before.
Photobucket

Are you guys really leaving?  For good?  I tried to explain that Nana was flying home, and Nicole was sticking around!
Photobucket

"Bye Bye!"
Photobucket

When we went to the park this morning he was talking about Nana and Cole while I was pushing him on the swing.  He was re-living the day before and wanted Mommy to sit in the swing next to him the way I did the day before!  Thanks for visiting Nana and see you soon, Nicole!

So happy to see these pictures, especially one of Jerry and Kathy. I was so lonely wanting to be there with all of you. The pictures help put it all in perspective. Looks like fun for all.

I changed my background picture to the one of Nathan looking so happy on your way home from Manitou Springs. He really loved swinging it seems, or was it being with Nana and Aunt Cole?

Thanks for posting all the snaps, Sonya!
