Tuesday in Indy & to see John

Nathan playing Tuesday morning with legos that Nana dug out of the attic and cleaned all up for him!

It turns out Nana really likes to build with legos too!

We had a restful and relaxing morning.

The boys got to spend some time with Grandpa & Grandma J too!

Play-Do time.

I love watching Grandpa J with Josh.  They both seem fond of each other.

They must be looking at something on Nana's phone.  I can't remember what.

Matt and I put the boys down for their naps and then headed down to Columbus to spend a little time with John and Brenda by ourselves before Papa & Nana brought the boys down.  It was so good to listen to both of them and see way the way God can work in a heart.  John has always held a special place in our hearts for the wisdom he's brought to us through the years...and especially Matt's before I even met him.   But to see how much more God can use us when we are wholly His, is quite remarkable to see.   His cancer is so very hard and painful, but he is seeking to honor God through it. He was in a lot of pain as he had just recently broken his sternum, but you wouldn't know it!

He went out of his way to get the boys these awesome John Deere tractors so they'd have toys to play with when they arrived.

Josh walking with him down the ramp.

Talking about this new vehicle he bought so the kids would have something reliable once he's gone.  No one wants to think like that, but I guess you have to.

The Dodgen kids are so loving, and so amazing.  They all kept the boys thoroughly occupied and entertained while the adults chatted.  How sweet are they?  This is Cloey and Annaliese with the boys here.

Chatting after our dinner.

Nathan was quite taken with Peanut!  I think at first he was just loving her name.  He'd say, "Peanut...yum!"  Now he likes her a lot too!  He sent her a card when we got home and was thrilled to receive a card back from her, as well her high school graduation announcement.  Her face keeps popping up all over the house!

Annaliese was great with Josh too :)

Nathan gave John a hug goodbye.  I missed the hug, but here he is walking away.

We were so grateful to be able to visit the Dodgens! John is hoping to be able to take a trip out with his family this summer or fall to Colorado...which would be so great.
