Getting There

Matt and I made the trip out to Colorado in an easy two days. In fact, we were surprised how well it went! We stayed overnight at his parents on the Monday night after we turned in our keys to our apartment. Then we left Tuesday morning in separate cars an didn't feel tired the whole day. Tuesday night we spent in Kansas at this really cute, affordable motel called America's Best Inns & Suites. Here is a picture of me in awe of how I match the motel's soap and coffee cups without even trying. And here's Matt enjoying his frosty from Wendy's!

We arrived early afternoon in the Springs at our new home. With a little effort, we were able to go up in apartment and down in price. Which we of course were pumped about! We are living in heaven with 2 bathrooms! Picture to come of that later. We slept in an empty apartment the first night since our things would not arrive until the next day. Here is our living room:
The best part of this trip was the ABF relocubes. We were able to just drive our cars out because of these relocubes that we rented from ABF. Bacsically, they drop these cubes at your home and give you 2-3 days to load them up. Then they come back to your home, pick up the cubes and drive them out to your new location! At your destination, they give you another couple of days to unload and they come back and pick up there empty cube. It is not very much more expensive than renting your own Uhaul to make the trip yourself. Plus, you don't have to drive 45mph on 70mph highways feeling stressed out the entire 20 hour trip that you are going to tip the truck. We LOVED these relocubes!

Our cubes arrived Thursday morning and Matt and I had them all unloaded except for the large items by Thursday afternoon. Check out how well those cubes were packed. It is so important to have them packed tightly so things don't shift in transit. Matt, his dad, Courtney and Kenton did an amazing job of putting our stuff in the cubes like a puzzle. Thanks for your help guys! We couldn't have done it without you. It probably took a fifth of the time to unload them compared to packing them up.

Our lovely friends, Josh & Amber (Amber is the one I roomed with at Focus on the Family in 2004) came that night with cookies and milk to help us unload the bigger items! We were completely unloaded that night and ABF returned to pick them up on Friday morning, after Matt left for his first day of work as a licensed physical therapist!

Thanks, Josh & Amber for your help and the warm welcome! Especially considering you just got back from your honeymoon!!
