Our Fence

Last week we had our fence powerwashed and stained.  Here is the before:

David, who lives in our neighborhood, who is super nice and did a thorough job, powerwashing the fence.  Can you believe the difference?!

The next day.  Beautiful.

A few days later with stain.

To be honest, I like the look of the wood without stain. But I hurried the stain choosing part too much. I thought a transparent natural stain would be clear and would just be a protected, shinier version of the power washed fence. In actuality, the stain was a bit redder/oranger than I prefer. Although, I'm getting used to it. I do best if I don't remember what it looked like in the in-between stage after being power washed! But oh well, good to know anyway. Especially since we will probably be replacing the fence sooner than later anyway. Our neighbor has already talked to us about it. Since we share fences neighbors split the cost when replacing. David did a lot of fixing of the fence as well and our gate works so much better now! It really was a great experience having David at our house. If we needed anything else, we would definitely call him. Plus, it sounds like they are Christians and are really nice! I met his wife Kary when he came by to pick up payment and she invited us over. They live in our neighborhood and have four kids...ages 14 to 20. It's just really nice to run into quality people.

And that's the story of our fence!
