December 2012 Trip back to PA! Part 1

We bravely headed to PA at the beginning of December with two young boys...  It was  LONG trip from the drive to Denver, parking a car, dropping off baggage, going through security, getting on the train to our terminal, diaper changing, eating, diaper changing again, waiting of our slightly delayed flight, boarding the plane and flying for 3 plus hours to Baltimore where we did the whole thing again and got a rental car to drive the 2.5 hour drive to my little hometown!  Whew!  Just remembering this day there and back makes me tired!

Luckily, the flight itself was great. Nathan was at the age where he really enjoyed the whole experience of taking off and airplanes in general.  Josh was young enough to sleep most of the flight too!

Here's some shots of our trip out!  Nathan loving the shuttle ride.

Yes...I even captured diaper changes in the family restroom.

Thank you, Lord, for family restrooms.

On the train to our terminal.

Josh taking a nap while we wait for our flight.  Nathan...being Nathan.
Oh dear.  Yes, he's mine!  At this point, I don't care that he is laying in the middle of the airport floor.  It has already been a long day and we have only driven from Colorado Springs to Denver, shuttled from our car to the airport, checked in, go photo 240116_10152333688240034_390179758_o.jpg

And we're up!
Love the iPad for a 2 year old on a plane! (because he didn't sleep on the 3.5 hour flight!) photo 469468_10152333694830034_1535340775_o.jpg

Josh did great! Slept almost the entire way! photo 178779_10152333697130034_245875669_o.jpg

In Baltimore.  Nathan made a friend named Drew.  He was an Eagles fan so Matt figured he was safe. ha!  No we were right with him the whole time while Nathan held Drew's hand off the plane all the way to baggage claim!  He is a people person!  No doubt about that.
Nathan met this guy named Drew on our trip.  He proceeded to tell him to get up when we were getting off of the plane...pulling his hand.  He held his hand all the way to baggage claim!! We were right there of course and had chatted with the guy on t photo 278210_10152333696650034_328249531_o.jpg

What a big help! photo 202245_10152333699830034_500615866_o.jpg

After going back and forth with the rental guy, he finally gave us a free upgrade.  Our stroller wouldn't fit in the small, affordable car we rented.  Once he was worn down and Josh was crying, he pointed to the minivan sitting right next to us and he said "how about I just give you this one?"  "Okay!'  Nathan was thrilled with the wheels.  We were happy to have room!

Just a few days into our trip we visited Pap & Gram.  Not even a half hour after we arrived at their house Matt and Nathan took a tumble down the stairs.  Matt slipped off the first step going down to their basement.  This landed us at the urgent care as Nathan's pain did not seem to be improving and he usually has a pretty good tolerance for pain.  He was so tired on the way to the Urgent Care and would wake up from his nap in the car crying in pain. :(

Sad day.  Nathan broke his leg and we are at the Med Express. Except their xrays were negative so we spent the rest of the trip believing it wasn't fractured.  Nathan actually loved this little experience.  Although he looks kind of pathetic :( photo 456241_10152333737390034_78209272_o.jpg

Juice and fruit snacks always help!
Apple juice and fruit snacks...and this is why he LOVED it!  Little boys are so easy to please. ha ha photo 241054_10152333740825034_1172468081_o.jpg

They told us it was not fractured and would be better in a few days.  He might even wake up in the morning walking on it.

We spent the rest of the trip believing his leg was not fractured, when that did not end up being the case at all, but more on that later!

Love all of Nathans different expressions too. He seems to enjoy himself very much with your family especially his cousin and his grandpa. Love him so much. G.J.
