Okay, so I hardly took any pictures at the zoo today. We went with Jen & Jamin! It was cool, sunny fall weather. I loved it.
Aren't our boys cute? They are looking at the monkeys in this picture.
Are you guys having fun?
Sure we are!
Let me at 'em!
What a good day at the zoo.
He's running away from us!
Letting them crawl around for a little bit...free from their strollers. They decided to push each others stroller around :)
Love watching these boys have fun together! And love getting to have fun with Jen :)

Nathan Learning to Walk!
A week and a half ago, Nathan totally surprised me by taking 4 steps! Matt had said before he ha has seen him take a step. Then at small group, the night before the day he showed me what he could do, Mandi said he took 2 steps towards her. I was like, "I've never seen this!" Craig was laughing saying that he is probably walking all over the apartment when I go back to my room and then sits down quick when I come out :)
So on Wednesday (9/14) after small group when I saw he was standing I figured I'd see what everyone was talking about it. I said, "Come to mommy, Nathan." To my surprise, he did! He took four steps, I screamed, and he fell down! ha ha. I think I scared him I was so ecstatic.
Matt just loves that this milestone is recorded with a brush in his hand :) ha ha. He loves carting my brush around. But when Matt is home he ends up with something more manly in his hands...like a tool of some kind :) Or a credit card, like in this video of him taking 8 steps. Not that a credit card is manly...the point is, the boy likes to cart things around with him. This video was the weekend after his 4 steps.
And here's a more recent video of him a few days later showing you more steps, a wave and his "head stand". He waves constantly these days. He thinks it is so fun. He waves, "hi", "bye', "goodnight" and for no apparent reason. When I am trying to get him dressed after a bath and he runs away from me, he will pause at the door to wave first, and then crawl away :)
Last night, Friday, before Josh & Amber came over, Matt had him walking down the hallway and counted 27 steps! It's so fun to watch him learn this new skill. I love watching him wobble around :) This is such a fun stage. But I'm not anxious for him to leave crawling behind yet! See how cute he is when he crawls? This is from a few weeks ago...when football season started!!! Welcome back, football! :)

Nathan in September
I have several random pictures of Nathan from this month. So this will be a hodge-podge post.
Bath time.
He has been pulling everything out of the cupboards these days.
Checking out his new soccer slippers.
Another cute Eagles onesie from his cousin Colin :)
Sick of Eagles stuff, yet? This adorable zip track jacket came from Darci, a friend of Matt's growing up in Iowa! She found it at a yard sale!! It says 2T but I had him in it last spring, and it definitely fits him now. Thanks, Darci! Great find!
Chowing down.
I put his winter coat on him from last year (not expecting it to fit at all). It actually had plenty of room to zip, the arms were just a little short. Buys us a little time!
I think he would have worn it around all day if I would have let him!
More Eagles. Our little DeSean Jackson! ha ha.
Here's a video.
Why eat my own cheese cubes? The ones on Daddy's plate look so much better!
TOUCHDOWN!!!
He has gotten really good at this, but sometimes he only puts one arm up!
Daddy went in to help Nathan get to sleep because he was having trouble falling asleep on his own. I waited, and waited and waited in the living room...feeling bad that it was taking so long and thinking I should help out. About an hour later, it hit me, Matt most likely is sleeping too. Sure enough.
Neither of them budged when I took these pictures, BRIGHT flash and all.
So cute.
Last Friday night I went to a baby shower for a friend of mine. Matt came home from work and Nathan was still down for a late nap. So, he didn't see how I dressed him for their guys night out together until I was gone :)
Kyle, Jen & Jamin got this outfit for Nathan for his birthday!!! Trying to convert him :) I wondered if Matt would change him, but nope! They went to Best Buy, Borders, Wal-Mart & Wendy's all with Nathan in blue & orange. Matt said they got A LOT of comments like, "Hey, look at the little Broncos dude!" Matt said he just played along...even though he had his Eagles hat on :)
Sunday Night Football. "Are you okay, Jeremy?" (After he got illegally walloped by Dunta Robinson)
Sadly, the night didn't end well for the Eagles.

Park Again!
We like taking walks to the Cottonwood Creek Park by our apartment. We love that place! That is why you see it in our blog posts all of the time. It's a perfect little walk for after work. Nathan enjoys getting out in the fresh air and Matt and I enjoy catching up after our day.
I always like crossing the creek...Nathan and I don't get to do it when I have him in the stroller.
On the swing...in one of his Eagles onesies from Uncle Dave, Aunt Age & Colin!! Thanks guys :)
Tawny, Matt though Clayton would be proud of him wearing a leatherman mulit-tool on his belt :) Grandpa J gave this to Matt in Keystone. He used when he was working at Crest. It has his initials scratched in it on the inside. Matt LOVES it. You should see the little jobs around the apartment he is accomplishing now. He doesn't know how he ever lived without it! He told Nathan maybe he would pass it on to him someday.
This was funny. His progression of almost falling over.
This kid has stolen our hearts!
His expression looking up at me makes me laugh.

Labor Day Weekend
Matt and I took Nathan back to the park that weekend. Here are some pics!
Nathan crawling FAR away from us without a care in the world. There was a dog on the hill. He loves dogs.
Apparently, the kid loves deer too. On a walk the other day, we saw a deer with a full rack in someone's yard. It let us get quite close to it as it was nibbling on the tree leaves. Nathan kept putting his hand out, waving at him, acting like he wanted to touch him.
After we retrieved him...with his mama.
Giving the stick he found to his daddy...because he was eating it.
Our friend, Craig, in our small group, taught Nathan a new trick.
He thinks its hilarious...probably because we do too :)
Oops, I almost forgot to add these pictures. This was Labor Day weekend so Saturday night we spontaneously decided to go to the Balloon Classic in Colorado Springs. Spontaneity is good. But things don't always work out perfectly! By the time we got there, found a place to park (several blocks away) and got to the actual event, it was at the very end of it. Matt had to go to the bathroom BADLY, so he raced to the porta potties and next thing I know, they are deflating the ballons!!!
So, I didn't really get any good pics.
Waiting for daddy. He looks scared, doesn't he? I think it's my flash in the dark...I probably hurt his eyes!
Heading back...
Nathan enjoyed all of the commotion and people anyway. Daddy learned his lesson to go to the bathroom before going to an event...the porta potty lines were ridiculously long. And we chalk it up as a family memory :) Maybe next year we will plan it!
