And Dad is just a little older than me! 57!
Here's our day. Morning birthday love from my boys.
And some pool time.
Dad came home from work to hang out with us for a bit.
Oh dear. Nathan with the sprayer!
Matt was helping Dad put a cover over the sunroom and Nathan climbing up the step stool to be like his daddy.
After the boys naps we headed to Knoebels Amusement Park with David, Age & Colin. Dad let David off of work earlier so we could head up and Mom and he would meet us later after he closed up. This is a really fun place only about 45 minutes away from us. We used to go there most summers when I was a kid. I wanted to do something Pennsylvanian for my birthday and this was a good choice! They have a great section of the park of just kiddie rides. Nathan LOVED it . It was so fun watching him be totally enjoying himself!
And Colin was such a good sport!
Small setback here.
Age was digging around in her pack for $49 worth of tickets that were in her backpack. (Is that the right amount, Age?) But she couldn't find them and we determined they fell out of her pack. After we scoured the area she went off to retrace her steps and most likely buy new ones while we moved on.
In about 15 minutes she came back with a story! She looked all around wishing she would have only purchased 20 bucks worth of tickets instead of 40 (they had some leftover as well from their last visit). She of course, prayed that the Lord would help her find the tickets, even though she felt like it was fully her fault for losing them in the first place. Meanwhile, David tells me that a thrifty girl like her can't be taking this well!! I could totally relate to how she was feeling! I felt so bad for her. Anyway, she decided to search for an ATM to buy the new tickets with cash instead of using up the cash they had for food. As she was looking all over for the ATM she spotted Lost & Found. On a whim, she thought she would ask. Feeling kind of silly, she asked if by chance anyone turned in a baggy of tickets.
Sure enough! A SECURITY OFFICER had just turned some in a few minutes ago! Praise God. I LOVE that our God cares about the little stuff :) Even though He doesn't have to. He's awesome like that. Age of course tracked the kind security officer down and thanked him. And she returned to us slightly giddy with a smile of her face. I loved hearing her story. I love that she had worked through the disappointment in her mind and then God blessed her. Correct me if my story is off, Age!
The airplanes!
It was SO cute how he would look back at me!
On to the EXCAVATORS!
Watching Colin dump the dirt!
Antique cars
Nathan can barely see out!
Dinner break!
Colin picking out some gems at the mining museum that was at the park. I didn't even know this place existed!
As Nathan is digging his grubby hands through the stones and tossing them about..."Nathan! Be careful. That's history!" :) We love our Colin!
He was so excited about these!
And then he actually mined for more stones!
The guy helping Colin was nice enough to give Nathan a tray too to pretend to be mining.
Nathan wasn't fooled. "I want those!" as he points to the gems in Colin's basket. :)
Pappy & Grandma arrive! And Josh!
I think this one is funny.
Colin got a paper that tells him what kind of stones he has!
This one is so cute. Nathan checking out his Uncle Dave.
My boys. My life. So blessed.
Birthday buds!
By the Birthday Cake Pavilion!
Family train ride :)
Our conductor.
So funny that these 3 squeezed into a seat! Check David peeking out between Dad & Mom :)
Nathan really loved the ride.
Keep it clean! Keep it clean!
It took some effort to capture this shot!
A great big cousin!
Antique cars for the adults!
Our car.
Me in the back!
Mom and Dad took Josh and got some grub!
Mom watched the kiddos...
While the rest of us went on the Phoenix! It went something like this :)
It used to be one of the world's largest wooden roller coasters, but then Knoebels actually built a LARGER wooden one! We went on that one next after a little persuasion for me to go because the Phoenix made me sore and my chest hurt! I realized I brace myself too much and don't just go with it. I definitely felt 30 the next morning! Ouch!
Funny story about roller coasters and Knoebels. Matt and the groomsmen that had already arrived for our wedding (and his dad) went to Knoebels the Thursday before our wedding. Or maybe it was Friday? Either way, they went. Well, on the way to Denver to fly out for THIS trip I asked Matt about his experience with Knoebels, realizing we never talked much about it! He told me they really liked the orange slide that you ride rugs down. That was their favorite part.
Really?
Then he mentioned small trains and small cars.
I proceeded to ask him, "Did you ride any roller coasters?"
His response?
"What? They have roller coasters???"
I said, "Matt! Did you spend the whole time in the kiddie section?"
Apparently, they did. He thought it was a kids amusement park! They missed a HUGE part of the park! It's so hilarious and sad at the same time. Because he and his dad LOVE roller coasters, and I'm sure the other guys did too. Oh well! ha ha. It's now a good story :)
Driving boats.
Birthday Funnel Cake!
Yum.
Josh loves to bounce on knees. He does all the bouncing. No need to move at all!
This one is so cute.
Me and my handsome man! Love him so much. Lucky at 30!
And I know he will still take me at 80 :)
Marriage was a good idea, God.
Love this pretty lady!
She's a good influence on me without even trying. She's a gem.
Loved celebrating my birthday with these guys!
Gram sneaking off to a park bench in the dark to change a diaper!
Sharing dessert.
A good place to end!
That was a long post!
