What else but...Nathan!

Just a few random pictures....

Tubby time. I think this was the last time I put him in his whale tub. I just put him in the tub now. But I needed to get a non-slip mat because he would try to crawl all over the place and slip!
Photobucket

Notice a trend with the stuff in his mouth :)

Taking the trash out with daddy. It was raining :)

His faces crack me up.

Story time with daddy.

I had to run and get my camera...they are just too cute.

Dale came over to see me and meet Nathan for the first time!

Dale & Michael are one of the couples in our small group. However, Michael is in the Air Force and was deployed for this last year. Last August, Dale moved to California to live with her family while he was gone. She was my walking buddy last summer and I was sad to see her go! A lot has happened since then and Michael decided to get out of the Air Force. He was returning from Afghanistan this week and Dale came out early to be here for his arrival. He took a pastoral position in Georgia and they will be moving there soon. So we had little time with them before we had to say good bye again :( I will post Michael's return as well.

Nathan trying on Dale's shoes :)
Photobucket
It's so unbelievable that at this time last year Dale and I were taking walks each week talking about the baby in my belly! It's arrival, it's gender!! ha ha. Crazy that I didn't even know we were having a boy then. SO much has happened in the last year for the both of us. It was good to catch up in person as opposed to just on the phone.

Dale got Nathan a dump truck for his 1st birthday! I thought that was really sweet, but somehow managed to forget to take a picture. I will have to do that later...we have been playing with it!

He really liked being in the clothes basket. Especially when Matt and I pushed him back and forth!

Clayton & Tawny

Over the 4th of July weekend, Clayton & Tawny came to visit us from Iowa! You may remember them from this post when we went to visit them in Wichita two years ago. Since then, they have moved back home to Iowa, near both of their families. And it is a good thing...because they are PREGNANT!
Photobucket

We are so excited for them. I was secretly hoping (well, I did tell Matt) for an announcement such as this and they didn't disappoint! They got in on Friday night and came over for a little Blue Bell ice cream before heading to the hotel. This is when they shared their special news. I might have taken a leap in my excitement :)

Of course, night one of the boys being together, and they are looking at a car on the computer :)
Photobucket
Oh dear, they're getting Nathan into it already!

On Saturday, we headed to Garden of the Gods for a stroll of one the best places on earth. It was a bit crowded. Apparently, the 4th of July weekend is a good weekend for the Garden. Not to worry, I edited a few people out of the picture of them "holding up" the balanced rock. (In case you were wondering, Tawny!)

The parents to be!
Photobucket

Clayton, making me nervous. Matt, taking his picture. Of course!
Photobucket

Matt informed Clayton that they guy puts on pregnancy weight as well. So Clayton is trying to keep up with Tawny. (Looks like he has a good head start!)

Playing Hands & Feet on Saturday night. The girls are ahead here. Naturally. To be continued on Sunday!
Photobucket
Nathan is entertained by us.

On Sunday Clayton and Tawny went up to Pike's Peak. Their pictures are great! Nathan watched Wimbledon :)
Photobucket

Daddy's watching Nathan here, while Mommy relaxes, naps? I don't remember. His babysitting techniques are great. Nathan's completely content.
Photobucket

Grilling chicken on Sunday night with a delicious citrus marinade my mom gave me. Yum!
Photobucket
Clayton kept talking about how "tender" the chicken was. I was completely flattered. Although it really had nothing to do with me. The secret is smaller pieces of chicken, and perhaps the marinade. But I still got a compliment on my food preparation. Sweet!

This isn't a great picture. But it tells a story. Matt called Clayton into Nathan's room to "show him something". Maybe because he was changing a dirty diaper? Letting him know what joys he was in for :) And of course, to tell him about the diaper genie and the miracle of an invention it is. So Clayton makes a note of this, by taking a picture with his phone.

Nathan and Tawny playing!
Photobucket
So sweet.

Nathan liked our guests. The morning they left he looked at me as though saying "is it just you and me?" ha ha.
Photobucket
He's our little sociallite.

These two are going to be spectacular parents. They're naturals!
Photobucket

Before we put Nathan to bed we decided to run to Target to get some belly bands for Tawny. A woman's best friend during pregnancy. Here is Tawny AND Clayton showing them off. A white one, and a black one!
Photobucket

Clayton felt misinformed. He didn't know they are to go UNDER a shirt :) Classic heart over belly picture...with a twist!
Photobucket
Aren't they cute?

Back home to finish our game of Hands and Feet after putting Nathan to bed. I think our scores are on that note pad. You can't really see it though. We are calling Clayton a loser...predicting the outcome of the game. As you can see, my "L" is backwards. Oops. Who's the loser now?
Photobucket

Predictions proved correct! The winners in all of our glory.
Photobucket

You know Clayton and Tawny are in town when...
Photobucket
...your freezer looks like this!

We ate a lot of Blue Bell ice cream this weekend. Clayton and Tawny fell in love with this stuff in Wichita and they can't get any in Iowa! So, they made up for lost time...and Matt and I ate like we don't have it right by us as well!

Playing again!
Photobucket
Looks like he's chewing on Tawny's glasses!

We went to Babies 'R Us to completely overwhelm Clayton and Tawny with information!
Photobucket
Nathan's just chillin'.

Burgers for the 4th!
Photobucket

While Tawny napped and I relaxed, the boys worked on our car. Here they are seeing how Nathan's carrier fits into the Impala.
Photobucket

They even took Nathan out with them for awhile so I could try to take a nap!
Photobucket

Nathan liked hanging out with the men.
Photobucket

Another game...Crokinole! This time, the boys "waxed our tails" as my Pap would say :)
Photobucket

I am convinced that the black playing pieces weigh more than the white ones. So of course, Clayton constructs a scale to test my theory.
Photobucket
I was right!

Then we played Funglish. A new game Clayton and Tawny bought!
Photobucket

The boys were funny.

And what's a trip to Colorado Springs without a visit to the Elephant Bar? Thanks guys, it was delicious! And the customary photos by the elephant. Girls!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Aww.

Best way to get a smile out of Nathan?

These two kill me. Check out these pregnant bellies :)

Tawny and I are so proud.

Men Tawny and I really are proud to be married to, and glad they've kept in touch. Oh, and glad that they chose good women so we can enjoy our visits too :)
