Farewell Party for Jim

Toward the end of March, they had a farewell party for Jim at the office.  I took the boys in for the morning portion (there was cake in the afternoon) so they could see him at his office, one last time.

I look down the hall to find Nathan in Chuck's office "working"! 


Marketing masterminds.  Nathan was chatting everyone's ear off.  So much for him being shy when we go in!

Chuck had actually called me earlier this week to try to get me to come back two days a week.  There was more of this in Vegas the following week.  I've just been reminded over and over again how honored I am that they would still want me, but that it's not even a consideration for us right now.  It's so peaceful knowing where both and Matt and I stand on this, for us, for right now.  I know myself too well to know it would not be a good thing for our family.

Jim is so funny.  He introduced me to his boss (now former), Matt Carr, and tells Matt about the slides I do for the office.  Matt Carr says we need me to do this for Oklahoma. What???  How did Jim make me designing PowerPoint slides with announcements on them a need that they are willing to pay for?  While I'm at home?  Because that's what Jim does!  That's one of the many reasons we'll miss him at Encompass! 

And the boys will miss tractors and basketball at the office!




We got him this hoop at Target awhile back.  Josh really likes basketball!




We stayed there that morning much longer than we expected!  It was like old times.  Morale seemed high, everyone seemed to be having fun, and there was a lot of enjoyment of the boys.  I try not to keep work from getting done or let the boys be a nuisance, but they kept coming up with reasons for us to stick around.  Like when Nathan squealed on me for giving them bread in the car for breakfast!  They couldn't believe that and said I had to feed them something good.  I had to ask how cinnamon rolls were better than bread! ha ha.  Nathan really liked Jennifer, who used to be the Branch Director, but stepped down into QI (Quality something or other).   She wanted to watch the boys while were in Vegas.  She said she had baby chicks and dogs and that it would be way more fun than at our friends house (Kyle & Jen's).  ha ha!
