Nike Gear

Hello Again!  We have had some stuff going on around here so I have slacked on the blog.  So I do have a lot to catch up on.  But I'm going to start with this short post of a Nathan's Nike outfit from his Uncle Mark & Aunt Rosie...as well as his kicks that I showed you earlier that were thanks to his Aunt Courtney!

And he's off!

A day or so before his Pappy & Grandma came to visit.  He was trying out their bed!
Photobucket

Of course he had to bring all of his stuffed animals in to try it out properly.  I found him in here with them when I was trying to put him down for a nap!
Photobucket
I told him he needed to nap in HIS crib :)

He tested the pillows too  :)

It was nice to have the room for an air mattress since we didn't put the crib or dresser together yet.  We were waiting to paint!

Date Night & New Pool

Matt and I had a night on our own thanks to our awesome friends, Kyle & Jen and of course, Jamin!  This has been in the works for a long time but between our move, them traveling and life in general, it took awhile to make it happen!  They got back from a wedding/family vacation last week and watched Nathan the following Friday night.  We dropped Nathan off after Matt got off of work and he didn't seem to have a problem saying goodbye!  He actually pushed me away and cried when I went over to say goodbye and hug him...he thought I was going to take him away from all of Jamin's fun toys!  Nathan loves their house and all 3 of them...plus Malachi their dog!

Matt and I went out for Mexican to celebrate my birthday!

I LOVED this fried ice cream dessert that we shared.

Love this man too.

We found a book that Mom Witt made for us in college while we were putting books on a bookshelf this week.  It has all sorts of questions about how you picture your life married in terms of home, finances, family etc.  Matt and I read through some of it this night and couldn't believe how accurate the responses STILL are!  It was also hilarious that I would write a book for each question and then we would flip to his response and laugh at his two-worder! :)

And because I was officially 25 weeks on this day, we snapped a pic of just me and our baby boy #2.  (The other pics I posted were just taken a day early.)

We picked Nathan up on Saturday morning with the report that he did great.  He slept in Jamin's crib because Jamin is in a big boy bed now!  It worked out great and Jen said he went right to sleep for her. We are so incredibly grateful to Jen and Kyle for watching Nathan! He is crazy about those guys and it is SO nice having friends that we feel comfortable with leaving him with.  Sometimes it is harder to find that when your family is not in town.  When we came to pick him up Jamin was calling him "Nay".  It was so cute!  Hopefully Jen has some pictures of their escapades but I heard they ate Louie's pizza, played in the SAND BOX, took a bath and had a dance party on Kyle & Jen's bed! :)  Now what kid wouldn't like all of that fun? :)  Thanks, Kyle & Jen!!!!

We had a fun family day after picking Nathan up that began with a McDonald's breakfast...Nathan loves pancakes these days.   And of course we thought he was being SO cute because we had gone a night without seeing him! ha ha.  Then after his nap we showed him his new pool!

He loves it.

He is his daddy's little shadow!  Especially outside :)

This is hilarious.  We stripped him down when we brought him in since his shorts were all wet so he started running around talking on his phone!

And looking out the window because daddy was doing it.

We got him dressed to go out that night and I turned around and found him like this.

He's also snacking on a pretzel in there.

Of course, we needed to have some lemonade before going out.

These sweet new shoes are thanks to his Aunt Courtney!  She sent some Nikes out to him but unfortunately we had to return them because they didn't allow enough room for the thickness of his foot.  They were plenty long he just has some mass to the middle of his foot!  So we used the money for some new ones that fit him better...and Aunt Courtney approved of the style :)

Thanks, Aunt Courtney!  I love my new kicks!

Hail & Rain Storm

We had quite the storms here in Colorado this past week.  Most people got it a lot worse then us...especially in Denver.  But they came two nights in a row.  Here Matt took a picture out our front window of the hail.
Photobucket

We didn't even think to check the basement or anything, so when I went down to get lightbulbs for the electrician the next day (who was installing bathroom fans) I wasn't expecting to find this!
Photobucket

Yikes.
Photobucket

Thankfully, we had done a lot of work in the basement in the past few weeks and all that was in that corner was the paint that we needed to dispose of and several boxes for Goodwill.   The source of entry for the water invading our basement?
Photobucket
Our window well.  You can see where the leaves are is the line that it was up to.  It was easy to figure out what happened since we had also just cleaned the window frames and the cleaned out the window well.

We are so grateful it only came through the window...a much easier fix than it could have been!

Photobucket

So of course, the investigation led to outside.  Check out our mulch!
Photobucket

You can see where the water pooled up along the edge and drained out to the road.  Notice where the red mulch is showing through.

A bit of mess although minor to a lot of things people were dealing with in the Springs.
Photobucket

Our electrician and his assistant were awesome.  Just because they are nice guys they got to the bottom of the problem for me.  They investigated in the basement and outside.  It appeared that most of our water from our roof piled up here.
Photobucket

From this downspout.
Photobucket

It just rained so heavily and so much (the MOST it has in the last 100 years in Colorado Springs) that it overflowed in to our window well here.
Photobucket

By the time they left they had it figured out what would be the easiest and least expensive way to fix our problem...especially in the future if we were to ever finish the basement!  I really appreciated them checking it out so I knew if it was a big deal, or not so much.  They were right too about where the water piled up because the following night when we had another storm Matt and I ran out to check it out.  Sure enough...from our own downspout.   The neighbors did not seem to be contributing too much to the pond!  I was thankful for that.  This was actually a great test to find out if we did have any water issues and what the worst case scenario would be.

Matt & Nathan cleaning up!
Photobucket

Cute, right?

These towels were all ready to go to Goodwill.  I suppose I should keep them around for things such as this!
Photobucket

Good thing our stuff was in the OTHER corner on shelves!

Finally feeling organized down here!  How did we fill up all of these shelves already?

Videos

I keep forgetting to post that Matt has all of the videos updated.  Of course now, he is behind again because we took two this weekend of Nathan in his new inflatable pool!  How's the guy supposed to keep up? :)

He got all of the ones up for April.  There are quite a few of them!  At home and in Pennsylvania...including him showing us how he climbed out of his crib.  You can check them all out here: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=2D5B3C6F619075C2&id=2D5B3C6F619075C2!949#cid=2D5B3C6F619075C2&id=2D5B3C6F619075C2!926
