My goodness. As I pull up this page my heart strings pull a little as I view the photo of our family at the top. Those boys are growing up so fast and life won't slow down! Thus, the blog is TWO years behind! I gave up! I just haven't had the capacity for it with every thing else right now. It's crazy to say because we actually have been quite intentional at this stage of the game to not over commit or put the boys in lots of activities. In fact, they aren't playing any sports or doing swimming lessons or anything right now!
Yet life is still full. It's a good full. God is stretching us and growing us. Parenting gets a bit more complicated as school begins and new attitudes are brought home. God has placed us in certain circumstances right now that are tiring but filling. On this Friday night Matt and I sit here after putting the boys down, hanging & folding clothes and updating the budget. We are reminded again how important this stage of life is for the boys and us and to not let it slip by without purpose!
Our week was full of things like a TCA Kindergarten Orientation for Josh, Small group barbecue, 1st Grade music concert for Nathan, taking our sweet Sarah Ogden (89 year old gem) out of rehab for an evening out for dinner, researching non skilled care for her, volunteering in Nathan's class, getting a new roof put on, video cameras up, and all of the other daily things of life! I'm grateful for these days. I really want to be doing everything that God is calling us to right now, and not more than He's calling us to. Navigating the difference is a full time job in itself! But He is faithful and good.
A few photos from this week:
The boys outside of Mimi's Cafe (her choice!) with Sarah Ogden.
Group picture. Thanks Nathan!
Waiting for Matt to get the car.
Watching Nathan & Josh be silly.
Back at the Center at Cordera-her rehab facility.
Ready for Nathan's music concert.
Outside of his classroom door.
All of the first graders are on the risers. 2nd grade is waiting their turn on the bleachers.
Nathan is standing next to Isaac. Isaac's mom is a 2nd grade teacher and she bribed Nathan & Isaac with a cinnamon taco if they actually sang! Neither of them enjoy it too much.
Our beloved principal, Mr. Donald Stump, who is retiring this year.
Mr. Stump says, "We better get a picture now before he's taller than me!"
Daddy and his boys!
And somehow, now it's 12:!5am. Better get to bed. Saturday is here!

Ashley's Baby Shower May 2016
Sarena and I threw a shower for Ashley when she came into town last May. It was a success! And we found that we work really well together for showers. I let Sarena do her thing with the food (which I really dislike) and she lets me do my thing with decor/details (which she is not into). And Sarena has thrown many showers before so she is a pro. It was fun to treat Ashley who means so much to us!
Oh! And Sarena's mother 'n law let us use their home! Which was a HUGE help to us both. Getting your own home ready for a shower with little ones and then chasing them and their daddy away for several hours is a bit of a chore. So I was very thankful for this blessing!
Here's a few pictures from the day: (the rest are here)
