Day After Thanksgiving...Christmas!

On Friday morning we had breakfast with Uncle Jerry & Aunt Kathy at Mimi's Cafe and then we went to get our Christmas tree! I have always wanted a Frasier Fir so we splurged this year! I love it. It smells great and looks great. Mom Witt spotted this one :)

We got it at Whole Foods. Nathan loves the carts there :)

Too cute, isn't he?

It's hard to see here, but he has a screw driver in his hand.

Helping Daddy put the star on the tree!

Oops. Somehow, I didn't even take a picture of the decorated tree. It looks really pretty! I'm sure it will show up later :)

Playing with Nana's ipod again.

The kid loves this thing. In fact, when we were at my hair salon today, he tried to press the button on my hairstylist's ipod because he recognized it. She plays music while doing hair. But that's for another post, I thought he needed a haircut that was not done by his mama. so I took him in today!

We decided to go ahead and do Christmas. Nathan pulled all of his gifts out of this red bag!

A camping chair!

We got digital yahtzee! I found out something new about Matt. He has never played yahtzee before. It's a good game. :)

An adorable Under Armour shirt.

He got a toy lantern :)

A sleeping bag that matches his chair!

Do see his tent in the background?

Papa & Nana made him a tent! The sleeping bag is thrown over the top in this picture. It folds up flat. He had fun running in and out of it and jumping on daddy.

Thanksgiving at Fox Run Park

Thanksgiving Day was BEAUTIFUL in Colorado Springs. Sunny and in the 60s. A perfect day for a picnic. I am thankful for in laws who are okay with a picnic on Thanksgiving :)
Photobucket

We are at Fox Run Park in Black Forest. This is where we had Nathan's one year pictures taken. We had turkey sandwiches, sweet potato chips, cranberries, apple cider and a delightful holiday nut mix (thanks for the recommendation, Dad!).
Photobucket

Now that the meal is out of the way, time to run around and have some fun! Needs some help going down the stairs.

Heading to the gazebo.

We met an incredibly nice family while we were there! It was a dad & mom and their grown daughter and son in law. The son in law was riding their horse, and the daughter had 3 dogs along with them! Nathan loved all of the animals. Here he is meeting the horse.
Photobucket

It was so well-mannered and the lady even got up on the horse so Nathan could get up there too!
Photobucket

Nathan LOVED it!
Photobucket

And he loved them. I can't believe we didn't even get their names. We were hanging out with them for quite awhile!
Photobucket

Photobucket

They even offered to take a picture of us all.
Photobucket

So the dad is a school teacher and was SO good with Nathan. He kept trying to get Nathan to count, "1,2,3.." before throwing the stick to one of the dogs. Nathan giggled every time.
Photobucket

This dog was so good. When we're ready, he'd be the perfect type of dog for our family.
Photobucket

Here's a video of all of our fun at that park. You'll soon see what I mean about Nathan giggling!

The best changing table when you're on the go!

Hanging out with Papa & Nana in the backseat on the way home.

Right after he woke up from his nap.

Nathan's up! Time to skype with Grandma & Grandpa J, Nicole, Uncle Mark, Aunt Rosie and baby Drew! Meeting his cousin for the first time.

Technology is amazing, isn't it?

Papa & Nana Arrive for Thanksgiving!

Dad & Mom Witt flew out last week for Thanksgiving. On Wednesday, Nathan greeted them from our deck.
Photobucket

And when they came in, he went right to them, eager to hug them...

...and stay there for awhile :)
Photobucket

And of course, he was accepting donations to his piggy bank.

When Matt got home from work, what better place to go eat then Louie's Pizza!
Photobucket
We should have invited Kyle, Jen & Jamin. They love this place too!

Nathan got some new clothes from Nana...including these cute pjs. He's holding the phone up to daddy's ear here.
Photobucket
He was quite the entertainer this night, listening to Nana's ipod and dancing! Check out a video here. (It gets really good at about 50 seconds in!)
Photobucket

He slept soundly that night!

In November

A few pictures I have been meaning to post to the blog for the last few weeks! I need to get Thanksgiving pictures up, but figured I should get this one in first!

Sometimes when I am doing my hair Nathan insists on being right by me or trying to get me to hold him. So, I let him in the cabinet that he usually can't access so I can finish getting ready! The other day we did this and next thing I know, he has pulled out my basket of hair supplies, crawls in and then out of the basket....and into the cabinet.
Photobucket

He found a plunger back there and was happy as could be! ha ha. I know, I know...yuck.

One afternoon before daddy got home we headed over to Cottonwood Creek Park and I took my camera. Nothing better than playing in the dirt.

Except for the swing!

This is one of the several play areas at this park. We will miss being so close to this place!
Photobucket

Part of the reason that I have been behind on blogging is because we are in the process of buying a home! We are moving to another neighborhood that is probably about 5-6 minutes from where we are now. So, we can still get to the park fairly easily, but it wouldn't be a quick walk. Thankfully, the home we are moving into has walking trails, a pool, and a playground as well. So I think Nathan will love it. We were playing at the park in our new neighborhood in this post.

We are excited about this new phase of life...and yet petrified (ok, so that's me!) I always struggle with transition because I'm afraid to miss what I am moving on from and nervous what awaits me will not be as good (although that never is the case in the end). We are so grateful for our time in our current apartment. Some have thought us crazy to be living here for 3 1/2 years now but it has been one of the best decisions we have made. We have so many rich memories here. It was SO exciting to move into our first place in Colorado! Just a young married couple making grown-up decisions and moving away to a place where we hardly knew anyone. Looking back, that decision was definitely the right one though I'm sure it also was scary then. We got out of debt in this apartment, we discovered we were pregnant two years ago in December and I remember taking pictures by our Christmas tree, we brought home our first baby from the hospital and put him in his very own nursery, then we watched him learn how to crawl and walk and spin around within these walls... So many sweet memories that I will always cherish. I know the time is right. It's time to move on and make our home in a house with a little bit more room. But the memories will always be sweet as I look back at our time here.

Here's a picture I snapped of the front of it when we took ONE LAST walk by before making our decision!

Later that night, making a fire at home because it was COLD out!
Photobucket

I love this kiddo.

Ok, now I just need to get Thanksgiving pictures up of Papa & Nana's visit!
